South London Mitcham played Supernova 3, two weeks after beating Supernova 4.
Matt Norman, Paul Franke, Frankie Neil and Nicole Williams started in attack, with Maisy Williams, Alex Chaffey, Tom Greeves and Sam Kilburn in defence. The game was close, with both sides trading shots but nothing dropping. After 10 minutes, Mitcham got a penalty (Matt Norman) to make it 1-0. Supernova quickly won their own penalty to level the scores and swap the ends. Tom Greeves scored from distance, and as before, Supernova equalised with their own distance shot. Supernova scored a drop off to get 3-2 in front. Matt Norman scored from underneath the post to make it level again. With 17 minutes played, Frankie and Sam Kilburn made way for May and Sam. Supernova scored from distance, but Tom Greeves equalised to make it 4-4. The subs were reversed just before half time and Supernova scored to go in 5-4 at the break.
Paul Franke got Mitcham level and 7 minutes into the second half May and Sam Wood came back on for Frankie and Sam Kilburn. Captain Maisy missed a penalty but goals from Alex Chaffey and Tom Greeves gave Mitcham a 7-5 lead. Supernova were awarded and scored a penalty to make it 7-6. Matt Norman won and scored his second panalty of the game before Maisy Wainwright and Alex Chaffey added goals to make it 6-10. Supernova got two more goals either side of Paul Franke’s second goal to finish the game 8-11.
