South London Mitcham travelled to Dalston to play their second match of the season. Maisy Wainwright captained the team and started in attack with Paul Franke, May Shakespeare and Edwin Huijberts. Matt Norman, Frankie Neil, Tom Greeves and Nicole Williams started in defence.
Highbury took the lead before Maisy scored her first from distance with an assist from Paul Franke to make it 1-1. With the change in ends, Highbury took the lead again for the last time in the match, before Tom Greeves scored and Maisy added two more to her haul to make it 4-2 to South London. Highbury scored and Tom Greeves, assisted by Frankie, restored the 2 goal cushion. Highbury got back in the game, before South London went on a 3 goal run before half time. Paul, Matt and Tom all scored a goal to put Mitcham 8-4 up at the mid-point of the match.
In the second half, Highbury scored the first two. Matt Norman got one back to make it 9-6. Maisy added her customary 4th goal just after Highbury scored. Highbury then came within touching distance with two goals back to back. Matt Norman and Frankie scored to open up a 3 goals lead before Highbury got one back. The last two goals were Mitcham’s though, with Matt Norman and Edwin making it 14-10.
