Goals up, still no points

South London Korfball’s second team – Balham – played Bec 4 at home. The team scored 8 goals but wasn’t able to take home the points.

Captain Luke Broadberry lined up with Charlie Corfield, Alice Howard and Jennifer Ledsham in attack. Down the other end, Richard Smith-Utchotski was joined by Adam Bedford, Lesley Potter and Vitoria Franceschini.

Balham opened the scoring with a mid range shot from Luke Broadberry. Bec equalised from a free pass given up by hindering a throw off. Bec then took the lead with a drop off shot. Richard Smith-Utchotski brought Balham level with a mid range shot. Bec got in front, but Kingsley equalised from under the post to make it 3-3. Vitoria scored a running-in shot to make it 4-3.

Bec scored the next 5 goals without reply. Kinglsey scored from under the post again, followed by goals from Jennifer Ledsham and Charlie Corfield to make it 7-9. Kingsley got a last goal, but it wasn’t enough. Final score 8-9.
